AIR AND VAPOR MONITORING
Over the last fifteen years, several methods have been developed to measure volatile organic compounds in ambient and indoor air. These methods include EPA TO-14A, EPA TO-15 and EPA IP-1A, and are published in the EPA Compendium of Methods for Toxic Organic Air Pollutants, Editions 1 and 2. Based on these methods, Calscience has developed specialized gas chromatographic techniques to measure volatile organics in air based on whole air collection and analysis.
The increasing demand for air testing services has led to a recent addition of Calscience's VOC and Air testing facility. This facility was built to house all of our VOC and Air testing instrumentation. With a facility dedicated only to low-level analyses of VOCs and whole air, we can ensure a clean environment free from cross contamination.
Where ultra-low reporting limits are required for ambient or indoor air projects, EPA Methods TO-14A and TO-15 can be run in the selective ion monitoring (SIM) mode. Depending on the number of target compounds, reporting limits can be reduced by a factor of up to 100 over full scan GC/MS.
All instrumentation is state-of-the-art. This, in concert with the technical experience of the Calscience staff and our commitment to service, allows our clients to meet their goals of quality and timeliness.
In addition to our inventory of standard 6-liter SUMMA Canisters, Calscience now maintains 1-liter MiniCans. These canisters are ideal for landfill gas, soil gas, industrial hygiene, and petroleum/petrochemical applications.
