QUALITY ASSURANCE ASSISTANT

Calscience is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Assistant. The person in this position will assist the QA manager in implementing and maintaining the Calscience Quality Systems program.

Typical Responsibilities

• Perform internal audits on group departments to maintain quality standards
• Assess and interpret analytical method procedures versus published methods
• Revise and distribute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Maintain log books and other records/documentation
• Initiate Corrective/Preventive Actions
• Assist and interact with laboratory personnel on QA related issues
• Accompany visitors during third party external audits
• Other similar QA functions as needed

Requirements / Desired Experiences

• BS/BA Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other related science
• Minimum five years bench experience in a commercial environmental laboratory with experience in various instrumentation types
• Attentiveness-to-detail a must
• Strong organization skills
• Strong knowledge of EPA methodologies
• Ability to work without supervision, self-motivator
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other computer skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Verbal fluency in Chinese or Vietnamese language a plus
