CHEMIST

Calscience is looking for Environmental Chemists. The person in this position will analyze soil, water, and air samples for hazardous constituents using a wide variety of state-of-the-art instrumentation.

Typical Responsibilities

• As applicable, prepare samples for analysis
• Analyze samples
• Load data into LIMS and review/approve data

Desired Skill Sets

• Agilent GC/MS with ChemStation/EnviroQuant software
• Agilent GC with ChemStation software
• Agilent HPLC with ChemStation software
• Perkin Elmer ICP with WinLab software
• Perkin Elmer ICP-MS with Elan software
• Dionex IC with Chromeleon software
• Traditional chemical analyses for cyanide, sulfide, COD, and BOD
• Semi-volatile sample preparation

Requirements / Desired Experiences

• BS in Chemistry or other related science; will consider a two-year degree
• Minimum two years of environmental laboratory experience with knowledge of EPA methodologies
• Attentiveness-to-detail
• Ability to function in a fast paced work environment
• Good written and oral communication skills.
